Stroll through this active neighborhood at almost any time of day, and you’ll see residents taking advantage of Mililani’s sunny, breezy weather. Locals love to get out into the many parks to go jogging, walk the pups, or take the kids out for a bike ride. This planned community is one of the few on the island to feature sidewalks throughout the neighborhood and the paths are well-traveled by the members of this active enclave.

With an array of casual, laid-back dining options, Mililani’s restaurant scene is both delicious and family-friendly. Head to Mililani Restaurant for chicken katsu, shoyu chicken, fried saimin, and more Hawaiian classics. The famous homemade noodles are a local favorite.
Grab your group of besties and head over to Taps and Apps Brewpub for a night of karaoke and live music. This lively pub offers a menu of small plates and a colorful beer selection with plenty of choices for all palettes. Hang out on the lanai and make sure to try the potato skin nachos.
If a homestyle meal is what you’re craving, the friendly, family-run Rise and Shine Cafe has a seat waiting for you. This cozy eatery focuses on breakfast, lunch, and homemade desserts. Residents will tell you not to be fooled by the low-key vibe - this place has some of the best food in town.
Things to Do
As a planned community, Mililani was made for active families and offers plenty of playgrounds for both kids and their parents. Enjoy the beautiful Mililani weather out on the course at the gorgeous Mililani Golf Club, one of Hawaii's best golf experiences. Once you’ve conquered the greens, celebrate at Paliuli with the kalbi or garlic chicken.
For a day with the kids, take a picnic to one of the neighborhood’s picturesque parks, or hit up one of the seven Recreation Centers to enjoy the amenities. Splash in the pool, shoot down one of the water-park style slides, or even take a judo class.
For a tropical, educational experience, take the kids to the Dole Plantation. A great outing for family day, the home of the pineapple offers a ton of kid-friendly fun. Take a ride on the Dole Plantation Express Train, and take in the stunning scenery while learning about the history of the pineapple. Get to know the tropical plants that provide coffee, exotic fruit, and even chocolate on the Dole Plantation Garden Tour. With eight different gardens, the tour is perfect for nature lovers.
Kids will love the Pineapple Garden Maze, one of the world’s largest mazes. Covering three acres, this colorful botanical labyrinth showcases 14,000 Hawaiian plants. Keep an eye out for the secret stations hidden throughout, and try to unravel the mystery of the maze! After working up an appetite touring the plantation, stop by the Plantation Grille for lunch, and enjoy island specialties like teriyaki chicken, kalua pork and loco moco, and the plantation star, the pineapple Dole Whip.
